Welcome to MomJogger.com, where we embark on a journey of self-discovery, perseverance, and the occasional sprint to sanity. Have you ever found yourself lost in the endless cycle of daily routines, feeling more like a robot than a human? You’re not alone. In the whirlwind of parenting and adulting, carving out a slice of “me time” seems like an impossible goal. But what if I told you that reclaiming your time could be as simple as lacing up a pair of running shoes?
I’m Kelly, a stay at home mom to three young and energetic boys, a part time ENL adult educator at night, a wife prioritizing my marriage, and your guide on this fitness adventure. My journey with running started in my childhood. I found myself following in the footsteps of my cross-country loving siblings. With this tradition in mind, I reluctantly hit the trails and roads, feeling more compelled than inspired. Running was just another box to tick, a finish line to cross without much joy—until I discovered the euphoria waiting at the end of each run. That rush of adrenaline, the flood of endorphins—it was exhilarating, transformative, and utterly addictive.
Throughout my life, discovering a hobby beyond the usual activities proved to be a challenge. My journey included everything from playing instruments, engaging in sports across all seasons, participating in clubs, to excelling in academics as part of national honor societies. Now, as an adult, I’ve learned to integrate these diverse skills, viewing them not just as individual pursuits but as components of a well-rounded existence. They’ve shaped me into a person who strives to excel in all facets of life, always doing the best I can.
Running has morphed from a dreaded chore into my retreat. It’s my time to tune into a favorite podcast (relationships: These are the Days or reality TV: Not Skinny but Not Fat, Bitcoin: New Renaissance Capital), unravel the complexities of life, or simply bask in the solitude of my thoughts. Whether it’s a crisp 20-minute dash or a contemplative hour-long journey, each step is a step towards clarity, joy, and accomplishment.
I find peace in the quiet of the early morning, securing a day’s worth of accomplishment before the day starts. Evening runs? Not for me. That time is for my husband, Dadjogger.com. I crave the satisfaction of a day well-started. Like the unpredictable nature of life, my running experiences ebb and flow. Some mornings, I’m invincible—a conqueror of miles. Other days, I battle fatigue from the adventures of the days prior. Yet, the reward remains constant: a surge of endorphins and dopamine that propels me forward, reminding me to tackle life one stride at a time.
Join me here at MomJogger.com, where we’ll explore not just the physical journey of running, but the mental and emotional resilience it builds. We’ll also explore other topics like being a mother and wife and how to balance all of these things to be the best person you can be. Whether you’re an experienced in one or more of these areas or someone who’s curious about taking that first step, this space is for you. Together, we’ll discover the joy in the journey, the strength in the struggle, and the power of a pair of running shoes to transform not just our mornings, but our lives. Let’s run towards a brighter, healthier, more fulfilled you. Welcome aboard—your adventure starts now.
